Kaspakas
The history of the village begins in the Byzantium era. The name came from the admiral Kaspakas who had property on the island. It is one of the oldest and largest villages of Lemnos. Kaspakas was built amphitheatrically on the slope of Agios Athanasios’ hill near Vigla mountain, and stands out for its traditional houses and narrow cobbled streets.
It is famous for its figs, almonds and “Kaspakino”, the famous local dish made with goat, rice and cheese in the oven.

Agios Ioannis
The beach of Kaspakas’ village takes its name from the church of Agios Ioannis which is located on a rock next to the sea. Over time it has developed into a settlement which is becoming more and more known as a wonderful tourist destination. The sandy beaches, the clear blue waters, the steep rocks reminiscent of Meteora, the picturesque chapel of Agios Ioannis and of course the beautiful view are impressive.
In the area there are also taverns, cafes, beach bars and mini market.
